Premium High-Definition TVs Set to Arrive Soon
High-quality TVs are becoming more common in homes around the globe, but their prices are starting to rise rapidly. These Ultra High Definition TVs, or 4K TVs, display images with four times more detail than the standard high-definition screens we’re accustomed to. However, the newest 4K TVs use about 30% more energy than regular HD models, according to a report by the Natural Resources Defense Council. This report suggests that if all TVs larger than 36 inches in the U.S. were to switch to 4K with their current efficiency levels, household energy bills could increase by over $1 billion each year.
