Kyle Jenkins: A Journey of Remarkable Physical Transformation
We reached out to Kyle to share his transformation story with us because we believed it could inspire and motivate many people. And we were right! Here’s his story, and remember, with the right mindset and support, you could be the next one sharing your transformation journey!
Kyle has always been an athlete and very active since the 5th grade. He never imagined he’d end up overweight and unhealthy. He played football his whole life, from Pop Warner through junior high, high school, college, and even semi-pro. It was his true passion. However, after those days ended, Kyle faced a common problem for many adults: trying to regain his health while juggling a busy life.
As time went on, Kyle found it increasingly difficult to stay in shape, especially as he got older. He gradually gained weight and ended up at a size that shocked him. As a semi-pro football player, he used to weigh 235 pounds, mostly muscle. But now, he was at 272 pounds, and much of that muscle had turned into fat. He even neared a 40-inch waistline. The wake-up call came when his wife was about to give birth to their first child, and friends jokingly asked which of them was pregnant.
Feeling uncomfortable in his own skin, Kyle tried to hide his size by wearing oversized shirts. Realizing enough was enough, he decided to get back into an active lifestyle. He started going to the gym a few days a week and managed to lose 15 pounds over six to eight months, bringing him down to around 255-260 pounds. Although he was losing weight, he still wasn’t where he wanted to be.
Things changed when his wife, Lindsay Jenkins, challenged him to join the Project 10 Challenge. After some discussions, Kyle started the challenge at 253 pounds with a 38-inch waist, aiming to reach 235 pounds and a 34-inch waist. He soon realized he couldn’t do it alone.
With the Project 10 Challenge, Kyle lost 44 pounds in just 90 days and went from a 38-inch waist to fitting into 32-inch pants. At 37 years old, he was down to 209 pounds, a weight he hadn’t seen since his freshman year in college. This success opened new doors for him, and he started competing in Men’s Physique fitness competitions, even qualifying nationally to compete for professional status.
The beauty of the Project 10 Challenge is that it’s not just about weight loss; it also helps people build muscle. Over the past 24 months, Kyle has gained 26 pounds of lean muscle and explored other fitness activities, like Brazilian jiu-jitsu. This transformation has not only improved his health but also had a positive impact on his family’s health.
